DESCRIPTION
Also known as MCPG_PSEPK, mcpG, pctA. Chemotactic-signal transducers respond to changes in the concentration of attractants and repellents in the environment, transduce a signal from the outside to the inside of the cell, and facilitate sensory adaptation through the variation of the level of methylation. McpG is a specific gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) chemoreceptor that recognizes GABA over a wide range of environmental conditions. Contributes to attraction to and colonization of plant roots.
