DESCRIPTION
Also known as SPTB2_CAPHI, SPTBN1. Fodrin, which seems to be involved in secretion, interacts with calmodulin in a calcium-dependent manner and is thus candidate for the calcium-dependent movement of the cytoskeleton at the membrane. Like erythrocyte spectrin, the spectrin-like proteins are capable to form dimers which can further associate to tetramers. Associates with the gamma-tubulin complex in brain, but not in kidney, liver, sperm, or uterus (PubMed:20564227). Interacts with CPNE4 (via VWFA domain). Interacts with CAMSAP1. Interacts with ANK2 (By similarity).
