Also known as PKSF_BACSU, pksF. Involved in some intermediate steps for the synthesis of the antibiotic polyketide bacillaene which is involved in secondary metabolism. It decarboxylates selectively the malonyl group attached on the acyl-carrier-protein AcpK (Mal-AcpK).
