DESCRIPTION
Also known as ACUM_ASPFU, AcuM. Transcription factor that governs genes involved in reductive and siderophore-mediated iron acquisition, and carbon metabolism (PubMed:21062375). Suppresses the expression of sreA and induces hapX to stimulate expression of genes involved in both reductive iron assimilation and siderophore-mediated iron uptake which is essential for the maximal virulence (PubMed:21062375). Regulates also genes involved in gluconeogenesis (PubMed:21062375).
